Tips and Steps to Draw Electro Artwork:

Tips for drawing and colouring Electro’s hood:

Firstly, mark out the highlights and folds of the hood using White/ Sky Blue Light.
Secondly, colour the base of the hood. (Indigo Blue)
The hood requires us to apply several layers of colour and blending is essential. Thus, avoid using too much force when colouring the base layer.
It is natural to see some gaps and spaces after colouring the first (base) layer, as we will need to apply the tones and blend the colours after.

Thirdly, colour the corners and the bottom/edges of the hood with a darker shade (Black) and blend it with Indigo Blue, followed by Copenhagen Blue and follow up with Light Cerulean Blue.
Fourthly, blend the highlights with Caribbean Sea, followed by Light Cerulean Blue, Copenhagen Blue and lastly Indigo Blue.
In general, follow the shape of the hood when applying the colours. (stroke according to the flow/curves of the material)

Tips for Drawing and Colouring Electro’s Eyes:

Firstly, we mark out the highlights and shape of his face using White/ Sky Blue Light.
Secondly, we do a light sketch of his eye using white colour pencil.
Note that the eye is relatively close to the edge of the hood and the contour line of his face.
We can use these as markers to gauge the proportion of his eye.

Thirdly, colour his eyelids with Light Cerulean Blue, while blending the edges of his eye with black and Indigo Blue.
We use White blended with Sky Blue Light for the cornea, and Black blended with Indigo Blue for the pupil.
Note that the top part of his cornea is covered by his eyelid, so do take note not to draw a full circle when drawing the cornea for his eyes.

Fourthly, Add a tinge of Eggshell and Lavender for his eye bags.
Next, draw the crease of his eye bags using Copenhagen Blue and blend slightly with Sky Blue Light.
Ensure that the tip of the colour pencil is sharpened prior to adding in Copenhagen Blue.

Tips for Drawing and Colouring Electro’s Cheeks:

Firstly, we mark out the electric streaks using White colour pencil.
Secondly, blend Eggshell/ Pale Sage/ Lavender/ Sky Blue Light around the streaks.

Thirdly, we add some Indigo Blue to the corners of the streaks, and blend them with Copenhagen Blue and Sky Blue Light.
Take note to leave the centre of the electric streak white to achieve the luminous effect.

Tips for Drawing and Colouring Electro’s Nose:

Firstly, we mark out the curve of the nose using Sky Blue Light.
Note that the left side of the nose is roughly aligned with the pupil. (eye)
Additionally, take note that the highlights for the nose are at the bottom. (Sky Blue Light & White)
Next, blend the highlights with Caribbean Sea, followed by Light Cerulean Blue, Copenhagen Blue, Indigo Blue and Black. (edge and contour lines of the nose)

Tips for Drawing and Colouring Electro’s Lips:

We first mark out the contour lines and highlights of the lips using Pale Sage.
Next, blend the highlights with Light Cerulean Blue, then Copenhagen Blue.

To add texture to the lips, create some creases using Copenhagen Blue by stroking outwards. (upwards/downwards)
Note that only a small part of the teeth is shown, it can be sketched out (a thin line) using white, and blend the edges of the teeth with Sky Blue Light.
Last but not least, we add some black and blend with indigo blue for the sides of his mouth.

Tips for Drawing and Colouring Electro’s Neck:

Firstly, we mark out the electric streaks using White Colour pencil.
Blend Black/ Indigo Blue/ Sky Blue Light around the streaks
To create the “glowing” effect for some parts of his neck, add some Deco Yellow and blend the edges with orange followed by Black Cherry.
